Do you ever find yourself to be the biggest hurdle to your success?
Procrastinating, avoiding, and running have kept me from writing this blog in the past, kept me from exercising to get healthy – something I really, really want and need, and from other major goals and progress in my life.
I bet a lot of you can relate.
Most people I know want to get healthier, lose weight, get organized, get out of debt, or whatever self-improvement that for some reason they avoid.
So why do we procrastinate?
Part of it seems to be because, at least for awhile, all of those goals are a bit painful in a way.
Some more than others, but with all of them – if there’s no pain, there’s no gain.
Everybody knows that if you’re going to build muscle there’s going to be some pain involved. That is certainly something that has kept me from exercising, even though I want to desperately.
I think about how I’m going to feel the next day, and I let it stop me.
I call it evading.
